We are proud to encourage greater collaboration between various Blue Light organisations, insurance and law services.

About the sector

Across our emergency services, a number of risk management, insurance and business continuity professionals in these Blue Light organisations are working hard to deliver a comprehensive service, consisting of:

  • Supporting colleagues in police, fire and rescue, and ambulance services
  • Working collaboratively with insurers, insurance brokers and lawyers as part of the Policing and Crime Act 2017.

The Act makes provisions for a number of topics related to emergency services and risk, including the Independent Police Complaints Commission, whistle blowing and police discipline.

Focus on the coming year

We are in constant contact with our Blue Light members and are always here to offer support and guidance. In addition, for 2018/19 our priorities are to:

  • Continue delivering engaging seminars to members
  • Mobilise Blue Light members as one voice to influence Government policy and legislation
  • Advise on best practice in-line with the Police and Crime Act 2017
  • Produce quarterly webinars for members to catch-up on the latest events
  • Keep our members informed on the topical issues through fact sheets, e-alerts and our member journal.
