The process towards a National Redress Scheme continues in Scotland. This webinar shall set out what we know so far, the likely structure, levels of payment and potential source of funding.

Helen Snowball is the head of our Sheffield office and leads Kennedys’ Local Authority and Abuse team. Helen is a dispute resolution and defendant personal injury lawyer. Her specialism is handling high-value and complex risk litigation involving allegations of historic child sexual abuse and neglect. Helen’s expertise in this area of risk involves a number of high-profile Court of Appeal and High Court cases, and she works closely with clients to provide crisis management in respect of press and media interest. Helen has worked closely with one Local Authority over the last four years to devise/implement and administer an Alternative Dispute Resolution Scheme in relation to historic child abuse claims.

Rory Jackson is the head of Kennedys in Scotland. Rory represents public sector bodies, insurers and self-insureds in relation to liability matters. He specialises in personal injury claims including catastrophic injury, historic abuse and fatal claims across many different sectors, including local government, manufacturing, construction, oil and gas and farming etc. He is experienced at defending Health and Safety Executive (HSE) prosecutions and managing high-value claims. He has extensive experience in dealing with fatal accident inquiries (FAIs).

She has a specialist focus on local authority work, including employers’ and public liability claims. She is actively involved with numerous public sector clients throughout the UK.
