LIVE WEBINAR - MANAGING DRUGS AND ALCOHOL AT WORK: DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START OR TOO AFRAID TO ASK!

Thursday 29 October 2020 - 10:30

In partnership with ALARM, DAC Beachcroft will be hosting a suite of live and interactive webinars. Charlotte Le Maire and Stephen Saddler, DAC Beachcroft, Daniel Jones, D.tec International, and Andrew Drewary, Road Safety Smart will be hosting a live webinar on 'Drugs and alcohol at work'.

Employers have a legal, moral, and social responsibility to ensure their drivers remain drug and alcohol-free at the wheel. However, managing drug and alcohol (D&A) use in the workplace can be perceived as a complex, un-manageable and an uncomfortable problem.

Despite the misconception that drug misuse in the workplace is not a common occurrence, recent Police drug-drive statistics for the first half of 2020 have shown that police forces are now catching two to three times more drug-drivers than drink-drivers and a significant number of these arrests are those who drive for work.

Further to this, the effects of ‘lockdown’ have had a considerable impact on the consumption of drugs and alcohol across the UK, with many individuals turning to substance use as a coping strategy to combat anxiety, stress and fatigue brought about by changes in their working patterns.

This interactive webinar will give you an introduction into how to manage drugs and alcohol consumption in the workplace, with insights into:

  • Current Police statistics on drug and drink-driving
  • The impact drug and drink-driving has on road safety
  • The importance of a robust and active Drug and Alcohol policy
  • What is an effective random testing percentage?
