Job Description

An opportunity to work within the Tri-Borough Insurance Service technical team. The Tri-Borough Insurance Service arranges and manages the insurances for three of London’s busiest local authorities: City of Westminster, London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. In addition to arrangement and management of the insurance contracts, the technical arm of the service handles its own property and motor fleet insurance claims in-house.

You will need to occasionally travel between office locations within the Tri-Borough.

Role requirements:

  • Responsible for the in-house recording and processing of own property and motor fleet claims including setting up, investigating, monitoring and settling claims up to an authority level of £25,000 plus costs. Also assisting on complex and high-value claims. Liaises with all involved parties, including instructing loss adjusters and attending site meetings, as and when necessary.
  • Responsible for processing invoices, including premium and claim payments, requiring validation of amounts due, preparation of the necessary documentation for authorisation and allocating payments to the appropriate departmental cost centres.
  • Accurately maintain and update the insurance claims database, understanding the importance of this in ensuring accurate financial data regarding claim reserves and payments.
  • Accurately maintain and update the property and motor vehicle asset registers, including assisting with asset revaluation exercises as and when required, understanding the importance of this in ensuring appropriate insurance cover is arranged.
  • Accurately maintain and update the Tri-Borough’s motor fleet on the Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB), understanding the importance of this in complying with the relevant legislation.
  • Assist with the annual internal and external insurance recharging process, including preparing and issuing the insurance traded services agreement to the Tri-Borough’s schools, assisting with service charges and other recharges and raising invoices.

£31,434 - £34,986
