This year ALARM President, Wayne Rigby, has chosen to support Moodswings; a unique, award winning charity providing intense support to people with mood disorders and their friends and families.

Founded in 1999, Moodswings aims to help people recover from mood problems and the severe emotional distress they can cause. The work of the charity is based on a belief that people can recover from severe mood problems and move on to lead happier and fuller lives. From its centre in Manchester, Moodswings reaches out across the North West and beyond with a message of real hope and optimism for individuals and their families and friends.

ALARM President, Wayne Rigby said: “as President of ALARM I am extremely lucky to be able to help support a worthy charity. Mental wellbeing is discussed more now than it ever has been. However, from my own personal experience, those suffering from mental health issues often find it difficult to articulate how they are feeling and that they need help. This can make it challenging to support a loved one, family member or friend who is experiencing emotional distress. Moodswings provides support to individuals suffering from mood disorders, and also educates friends and families on how they can help loved ones experiencing mental health issues. The inspiring work Moodswings does helps people all over the North West and I am very happy to be supporting them this year.”

Members will have the opportunity to donate to this worthwhile charity at the Risk Awards dinner on Monday 22 June during the President's charity raffle. Prizes include £100 Amazon voucher, £200 Red Letter day voucher and Lumie Body Clock Spark 100, kindly gifted by our sponsors.
