Well Managed Highways Infrastructure: a code of practice

Tuesday 22 October 2019

The UK Road Liaison Group’s new code of practice has thrown up challenges for local authorities. The move away from specific guidance on road maintenance to a risk-based regime has required a fresh approach and the introduction of new procedures, with a need for new highway maintenance plans, individual risk assessments, changes to record-keeping and data, and issues arising from the training of highway inspectors.

FOIL and ALARM would be very interested in how you have addressed the challenges and what changes you see arising from the new approach – please take a few moments to complete a short survey.
