Sue and Sophia will begin the session by defining value for money in the context of public resources and services. Following that, they will delve into FRIC's competitive advantages in the market, explore additional services offered to members, and analyse the impact on risk reduction. Finally, they will discuss the unique structure and collaborative approach that sets FRIC apart.
Sophia has been the Mutual Manager of FRIC since September 2024, having managed another mutual since January 2018. She works closely with the Chair and the Board of Directors as well as the team who look after the members. She oversees the underwriting team for both new business and the renewal process; regularly visits members to discuss their requirements and issues affecting the sector; organises members events and networking opportunities for the members; and manages the Mutual’s relationship with the mutual’s supporting insurer, AXA XL.
A defendant insurance lawyer for 24 years prior to moving to Mutual Management, she brings a wealth of experience in terms of risk assessment and claims defensibility to the role and regularly meets with Members to advise on claims defensibility and risk management.
