In this session, Nicky and Alan will explore claims defensibility from a personal injury perspective, focusing on universities’ liability. They’ll discuss types of cases and key risk factors, examining how universities can proactively manage claims and strengthen their defense strategies. Attendees will gain practical insights into legal responsibilities, evidence requirements, and the importance of robust procedures. Lessons learned from past incidents will be shared to highlight effective approaches and common pitfalls, helping universities improve their risk management and reduce exposure.
Alan has over 30 years’ experience at Zurich Municipal, focusing on insurance for the Public Sector. His career has included claims handling, coaching, and managing complex cases, as well as building strong relationships with major clients.
Since 2000, Alan has specialised in sales for Education and the Charity sectors, and now leads the Strategic Account Managers, developing bespoke solutions for Zurich Municipal’s largest customers.
