1: Future Trends for Scotland

9.45am – 10.45am GMT, 3 November 2025 ‐ 1 hour

Room: Hermitage-Iona Suite

Session

The Scottish Government published its Future Trends for Scotland report in June 2025; outlining the 60 trends likely to be important to Scotland over the next ten to 20 years. This session will provide delegates with an overview of the key thematic areas identified in the report: politics, the economy, society, technology, health, and the environment, and highlight the uncertainty and complexity of our current and future world. The session will also demonstrate how these trends are intended to help inform and shape longer term planning, resilience and preparedness among partners in the wider public sector and in the voluntary and private sectors in Scotland.
