The risk landscape facing Scotland's public sector continues to evolve. Financial constraints, workforce pressures, service transformation, changing working environments and increasing public expectations all have the potential to create new health and safety challenges or amplify existing risks.
For those responsible for managing risk, maintaining safe, compliant and resilient services has never been more important.
This session will examine the emerging health and safety risks affecting Scottish public bodies and explore the practical measures organisations can take to identify, mitigate and manage them effectively. We will discuss legislative responsibilities, lessons from claims and incidents, and proven approaches to reducing risk exposure while strengthening the ability to defend claims when things go wrong.
Delegates will leave with practical insights and actions that can be applied within their own organisations to help protect employees, service users, assets and the communities they serve.
Steve is a Consultancy Team Leader and Chartered Safety Practitioner with 30 years’ experience delivering health & safety, risk and insurance advice and support in the Public, Commercial and Not for Profit sectors. Steve has a particular interest in employer’s and public liability claims and claim defensibility; assisting clients minimise and mitigate their exposures to these risks.
