Session
Phil will talk us through some of the more interesting events from his 41 years in the public sector insurance market. Phil started his career at MMI and was around in the days of nil excesses and then worked through the introduction of the risk financing programmes, the demise of MMI and the introduction of the procurement rules through to the current day. Phil’s time also spans the formal introduction of risk management. Much has changed in the 4 decades and not just in the insurance market, but also office life, society and risks in general. Phil will share with his some of the more interesting highlights around claims, developments in the market and risk financing, and how risk has or has not changed over those years. This will very much be a personal insight and will be delivered with a relevance to the future but also with a slight humours tone. Finally Phil would like to sign off on the importance of the ALARM movement and what it has meant to him over those years.
