The session introduces how Mencap has redesigned its risk management approach to make it accessible, engaging, and inclusive for all colleagues. The session will explain why accessibility matters, outlines the challenges with previous materials, and will show how training, language, and tools were transformed using Easy Read principles and co‑production. Attendees will see the benefits of an accessible approach and leave with practical ideas they can hopefully apply in their own teams.

I have over 14 years’ experience in risk management, my career has taken me from working in a training organisation, the civil service and now in the charity sector. I really enjoy making risk management accessible and understood for everyone and creating and running training sessions to support that. I’m passionate about building relationships across all levels in an organisation to maximise understanding of risk management to help teams to achieve their goals.
