Congratulations to Corrina Young, Risk and Technical Officer at London Borough of Waltham Forest and the 2026 recipient of the Bob Craik Award.
Presented with the Award at the ALARM South Conference in Slough this week, Corrina said:
I was honoured and thrilled to have received the Bob Craik Award and grateful to my colleagues from the ALARM South Committee and Marsh for nominating me.
Corrina has worked for the London Borough of Waltham Forest since 1990 in a variety of roles, including performance management, scrutiny and contract management. She joined the Risk & Insurance Team in 2014 as a Risk & Technical Officer.
In Corrina’s current role, she is responsible for embedding risk management throughout the Council, including developing and implementing the Council’s Risk Management Framework. This includes designing the strategy and policy, recruiting and training risk champions, facilitating risk workshops to identify and analyse risks and reporting and communicating risks to a variety of audiences.
Corrina constantly strives for improvement to ensure the Council’s approach is dynamic. They are currently preparing to launch a refreshed strategy which will include a revised risk appetite, reporting through PowerBI and monitoring of key risk indicators.
Following the successful completion of the Institute of Risk Management Certificate and Diploma in Risk Management, Corrina holds IRM(Grad) professional status.
Richard Skok, ALARM South East Committee Co-Chair said:
Corrina’s commitment extends far beyond her day-to-day role. Corrina shares her expertise across the sector, supports peer review assessments for other councils, contributes to pan-London reviews of the Orange Book, and much more.
Corrina is the definition of a team player and a true asset to the ALARM community. Well-deserved recognition!

I have been a proud member of ALARM since becoming a Risk Officer and joined the ALARM South Committee in 2017. It has been a great pleasure to contribute to the work of ALARM through being a member of the South East Committee and supporting the delivery of ALARM events. I find the support I receive from ALARM through the website, training, guidance and events invaluable in my role, with the events providing the opportunity to grow my network and constantly hone my craft. I am extremely grateful to have been presented with this prestigious award.
Bob Craik was a former ALARM member and South East England Committee member who died in 2015. He was a passionate supporter of ALARM for many years. In 2015, JLT Specialty (now part of Marsh) began sponsoring an award in Bob’s memory.
This award is given annually to an ALARM member who exhibits the same professional approach as Bob did: taking pride in their work, having integrity and being motivated, being reliable and a team player, and being committed to the organisation and the risk management role.
