What is your role and where do you work?
I am a Bid Coordinator at Maven Public Sector (MPS), where I have worked since 2018. My role focuses on supporting our business development and tendering activities. Over this time, I have developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the sector. I am proud to be part of a passionate and supportive team that is dedicated to delivering tailored insurance solutions for our clients.
What is your expertise, specialism or main area of interest?
My background lies in project coordination, particularly in the context of complex public sector insurance requirements. I have extensive experience managing and supporting large-scale tender exercises both as a buyer and a supplier and I ensure our submissions are both robust and well positioned to support the needs of our customers and the communities they serve.
I am especially interested in the ongoing changes in public sector procurement, and how we can best support our clients as regulations, such as the new Procurement Act, reshape industry expectations.
Is there a particular aspect of your work you are interested in or passionate about?
I am passionate about making a tangible difference for our clients, especially when it comes to integrating social value into our propositions. Throughout my career, I have always sought roles that allow me to contribute to a positive impact on society—whether by working directly within the public and non-profit sectors, or by supporting organisations that serve these communities.
With the environment constantly evolving, I enjoy the challenge of finding innovative yet compliant solutions that deliver real benefits to public sector organisations and their communities. It’s rewarding to know that my work not only supports organisational objectives but also contributes to wider positive outcomes in society.
I am driven by the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and clients to create solutions that are both effective and meaningful.
What are you working on currently?
My current focus is on helping our clients navigate significant changes brought about by new legislation—most notably, the Procurement Act—and preparing for local government reorganisation (LGR). I am actively involved in reviewing and adapting our internal processes to ensure we remain agile and responsive to new requirements.
Alongside my day-to-day bid coordination, I am working on developing social value solutions that reflect regulatory constraints while maximising impact for our customers.
I am also contributing to our business development strategy, helping to shape our propositions and operational approach to better address emerging client needs and drive business growth.
MPS is supporting my ongoing professional development with a diploma in project management which enables me to bring fresh perspectives and robust methodologies to my work.
What topics and trends are emerging?
The public sector insurance procurement landscape is changing rapidly, with several key trends coming to the fore. Legislative updates, such as the introduction of the Procurement Act, are having a significant impact on how organisations approach procurement and risk management.
Social value is an increasingly important consideration, requiring innovative approaches to deliver measurable benefits within tight regulatory frameworks.
Local government reorganisation (LGR) is set to reshape the sector, presenting both challenges and opportunities for our clients as they adapt to new structures and responsibilities.
At MPS, we are proactively engaging with these developments, ensuring our clients are well-informed and fully supported through the changes ahead.
