What is your role and where do you work?
As Head of Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) for the UK, I have over 20 years of experience in risk and insurance, much of it with public sector organisations. My background is underwriting and risk transfer, so stepping into this resilience-focused role is a natural progression. I’m passionate about helping customers take control of risk at all levels of their organisation before it becomes a problem, not just responding to it.
What is your expertise, specialism or main area of interest?
My background has always been focussed on risk; I’ve always felt that insurance is about more than just transferring risk. It’s about helping our customers understand and manage their vulnerabilities before they turn into crises. I’m passionate about protecting assets, providing stability, and helping organisations keep doing what they do best, whether that’s supporting vulnerable communities or driving business growth.
My previous underwriting experience has been a key part in this transition. Risk is the common thread that runs through everything I’ve done. Understanding risk, identifying priority areas, and helping customers appreciate where their biggest exposures lie, that’s what insurance is about. It’s also the foundation of resilience. Ultimately, it’s about protection for our customers and for the people they serve.
Is there a particular aspect of your work you are interested in or passionate about?
One area I’m especially passionate about is sustainability. For me, it has two meanings. First, it’s about being a reliable partner through times of volatility and uncertainty, being someone our customers can rely on.
Second, it’s about helping them respond to the evolving challenges of our world. Climate change, cyber threats, digital transformation, and global supply chain dependencies are all reshaping the risk landscape. We need to help our customers face into these changes with confidence and agility.
What are you working on currently?
Being new into this role, I'm taking my time to understand what we're doing for our customers and what we're doing in terms of our own business and propositions.
Looking ahead to 2026, I’m focussed on exploring how we can work more effectively with our market partners and internally across practises and business units. Collaboration is key, whether it’s delivering insurance or embedding resilience alongside it. The two must go hand in hand.
What topics and trends are emerging?
I’m keeping a close eye on emerging trends, especially the growing role of digital technologies and AI. Digital is now embedded in everything we do, and AI is accelerating that transformation. It’s vital that we help our customers understand their digital dependencies, whether it’s data storage, third-party platforms, or global tech ecosystems. These interdependencies bring both opportunities and risks.
At the same time, we’re navigating a volatile economic environment, supply chain disruptions, and the ongoing impacts of climate change. My focus is on helping customers adapt and respond, not by looking in the rearview mirror, but by anticipating what’s ahead. Predictive thinking is essential.
